Circumaural Headphones

Any suggestions on circumaural headphones (cans that go all the way over the ear) in the $50-150 price range? I’m looking for something that works well for both audio production and portable use with an iPod.

  1. Sennheiser HD280 Pro.
You can find them online for around $100, and they’re worth every penny. Most of the sound engineers I know use them as well. I use mine with an iPod and Apple Lossless files, and they have very deep bass and high treble extension, with way better mids than Sony V6. They’re accurate but warm enough for normal listening too. And the HD280 Pro’s don’t require a headphone amp either, though they do sound great with my portable Headroom amp.
